As it prepares to launch in France, internet bus ticket sales platform Busbud is hoping its online-only service and Canadian roots will hold the secret to success.
With this in mind, Young&Rubicam Paris has designed a series of 4 digital media-optimised quirky comedy shorts. The films are all based on linguistic mix-ups between two passengers — one French Canadian and the other from France. Both of whom are lost…in Bratislava!
Each film seeks to highlight one of the brand’s flagship services:
– 24/7 customer service
– Comparison of fares from more than 3,500 bus companies
– Option of reserving and paying for tickets in euros in 80 countries
Director Olivier Bennoun weaves a tale that lies somewhere between the fringe of reality and the outer reaches of the absurd as he creates a pair of passengers who are side-splittingly funny and endearing in equal measure.
They will be available to watch on Youtube from mid-December — just in time for the first Christmas holiday departures — and will run until mid-January. These video adverts will be bolstered by digital billboard promotions across Paris’s train stations coupled with a display campaign (in-margin/banner ads).
Busbud is an online platform that makes bus travel easy by enabling you to search for, compare and purchase bus tickets. With over 3,500 bus companies running 1,500,000 routes between 17,000 cities across 80 countries, it is the single biggest database of its kind anywhere in the world.
